The Buar Cabin
A BIG LITTLE CABIN
The cabin has undergone extensive renovation in recent years and is approximately 65 sqm on the ground floor and 15 sqm upstairs. It may look small on the outside but is spacious on the inside and equipped for eight people. If you appreciate a large garden and countryside living, this is the place for you.
It takes less than 10 minutes to reach Idefjorden with its salty water and child-friendly beach. Within walking distance of the beach, there is a simpler restaurant with outdoor seating. Idefjorden outlines the national border towards Norway, so here you can look over to our neighboring country.
The closest place to take a dip is a lake just a 3 minute drive away. Park by the roadside and walk 12 meters on a path, and you will reach a small shallow sandy beach with a floating jetty.
The sea coastline is just a 15-20 minutes car ride away, We have gathered information about our personal favorite restaurants, beaches and suggestions for excursions and these can be found in the cabin when you arrive.
KITCHEN
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. There is a dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, full sized fridge and smaller freezer. The kitchen was renovated January 2024.
UPSTAIRS
On the cozy upper floor there are two standard beds and a larger bed (140 cm wide). There is no door between the spaces upstairs. The staircase is steep but with deep steps.
LIVING ROOM
The living room is connected with the dining area and kitchen. It is important for us that you feel comfortable and at home, so it has a Smart TV, DVD player and children's movies. Large sliding doors opens towards the terrace and there are two sofas. One leather sofa,
and a sofa bed that unfolds to a 144 cm wide bed.
BATHROOM
The bathroom is recently renovated with a shower, handcrafted furniture and floor heating.
THE BEDROOM DOWNSTAIRS
On the ground floor there is a small bedroom with a 140 cm wide continental bed. All the beds have new and fresh mattress covers. Please note that this bedroom is small.
Why stay here?
This is a really cozy cabin with a large terrace and secluded garden. During summertime we bring out a trampoline of good quality and there is a playground for the little ones. The house is well equipped for cooking, and even has a microwave oven and dishwasher. The grill stands ready on the terrace just outside the kitchen.

The cottage is located right at the edge of the forest and it is only a few kilometers to hiking trails such as the Bohusleden trail. On the other side of the road, there are usually two horses in the paddock and it is a few hundred meters to a smaller waterfall. We have gathered more information about our personal favorite restaurants, beaches and suggestions for excursions and these can be found in the cabin when you arrive.
It takes 15 minutes by car to the seaside and several excursion destinations can be found within a 25-30 minutes distance.
CLEANING AND BEDDING
As guests in The Buar Cabin you bring your own bed linen and towels, as well as clean the cabin properly before returning home. It`s possible to rent bed linen and towels (20 € per person).
Large lovely terrace
SUN ALL DAY
We believe that sitting outside in the sun should be comfortable during a holiday stay. That is why we build a large terrace, so that our guests easily can move around as the sun travels across the sky. With two tables and eight chairs it´s easy to adapt and make room for everyone.
